We had to wait all week to talk about the TiVo Slide Remote on the podcast, listen in to find out if it was worth the wait. Meanwhile, Google TV made the news last week in an unusual way, but Sony and Netflix had their own streaming news to cover. A shocking drop in the number of people subscribing to traditional pay-tv servcies set the table...

If you hate 3D talk then great news as we only have one 3D topic on this week’s show and it’s about how Roger Ebert hates 3D too. Luckily we don’t spend too much time on it, and move on to fun things like Windows 7 Media Center and the fact that it is now available on Embedded devices. On that same note we talk about what Google...

Samsung’s 3D BD-C6900 Blu-ray player now shipping, for real
The last we heard of Samsung’s BD-C6900 Blu-ray player it was up on Amazon for a pre-order — and then it was mysteriously gone again. We’re not sure whether anyone clicked the button quickly enough to get one of those into their shopping cart and onto their credit card statement back then, but even if you missed out then it is...

This week was packed with HD news, from digital delivery and the rental wars to just what’s holding up 3D movies. We still found time to wonder what PlayReady support from Samsung could bring to the table, and why CableCARD devices still cost so much. Speaking of, the HDHomeRun beta was open and closed, if you blinked and missed it, don’t...

Ask Engadget HD: Home theater on a $2,500 budget?
Keeping with our recent theme of more frugal home theater efforts, this week our question is similar to the pie in the sky dreams of a few weeks ago , but with a very down to earth monetary restriction. Our friend Thomas has space for a home theater setup, but not a lot of cash to use to fill it up. We’ll let him tell you how it is: We are...
